The Importance of 'WHY' in Dynamics 365 & Power Platform Implementations

Simon Sinek said in his famous TED talk entitled ‘How Great Leaders Inspire Action’, that many organisations can tell you what they do, some can tell you how they do it, but very few can tell you why they do it.

Its remarkably similar in many Dynamics 365 implementations. We usually start off with what we want to do, and then look at how we are going to do it, but very rarely do we look at why we are doing it. The problem is, if we are not driven by why we are doing it, then we cannot truly be successful as there is no real measure of success.

I took this approach on one of our past projects and even though we received widespread commendation, the process was never adopted by the users and provided no value to the organisation whatsoever. I learned a very big lesson from that!

It happened because I didn’t look at why we were doing it and didn’t measure the success of the project against the impact on why we were doing it.

This mistake is extremely costly to organisations both in terms of time and money.

In this video we further explore why the why is so important, and I tell you the ‘WHY’ that I've found guides really successful Dynamics 365 Implementations.
